What are GLA directors responsible for? Under Article VI of the GLA Bylaws, directors work together as a Board to manage the Association and carry out its governing documents. Their duties include arranging road and common-property maintenance, collecting assessments, paying bills, keeping accurate financial records, obtaining insurance, and setting aside reserves for emergencies and future repairs. They also oversee officers, workers, and committees and enforce landowners' obligations under the Covenants. Board rules must follow Montana law and the GLA's governing documents, and decisions reserved for landowners must receive the required landowner approval. Board meetings are generally open to members, except for confidential matters, and the meeting agenda includes an opportunity for member comments. An individual director does not have independent authority simply because they hold a Board seat.
