The GLA maintains a document archive dating back to 1997. Many current and historical documents are available on the website, particularly in the Minutes and Reports section.

Some records, including membership lists, are not published online because they contain personal information. Members may nevertheless have the right to inspect and copy records under Montana law, subject to the applicable requirements.

Inspection of Records by Members

Preparing Your Request

Identify the records you want to inspect or copy. Montana law generally requires written notice at least five business days before the requested inspection date.

For accounting records, membership lists, and certain other records covered by Section 35-2-907(2), your request must:

• Be made in good faith and for a proper purpose.
• Describe the purpose and requested records with reasonable particularity.
• Seek records directly connected to that purpose.

The association specifies a reasonable time and location for inspection.

Membership List Restrictions

Montana law places additional restrictions on membership lists. Without Board consent, a list may not be obtained or used for purposes unrelated to a member's interest as a member, used for commercial purposes, or sold or purchased.

Additional restrictions apply to soliciting money or property, with an exception for funds used solely to solicit member votes in an association election.
