Glastonbury Committees
GLA Election Committee Documents
What does the GLA Election Committee do? The Election Committee helps the Board conduct accurate, honest, and fair elections under the GLA's governing documents. Articles V and VI of the Bylaws establish requirements for voting, candidate eligibility, nominations, and election procedures. Members must be in good standing to vote or qualify as candidates, which includes paying the required assessments, interest, and penalties and having no Covenant violations. Members who own multiple membership interests must meet the applicable requirements for all of them. The committee helps organize election materials, check eligibility information, and carry out the procedures approved by the Board. This work requires coordination with the Treasurer and those responsible for reviewing Covenant compliance. The Board retains responsibility for establishing election procedures and making candidate-ineligibility decisions as provided in the Bylaws. Like other GLA committees, the Election Committee must keep minutes of its attendance and actions and work within the authority granted by the Board.
